An exploration into the small, yet impactful design world that is postage stamps. In researching ideas for a stamp design, many mentions were made of something or someone who has made a positive widespread impact to the US as a whole. I love movies and animation so Toy Story popped into my head as something that most people love across generations and that graphically comes across well. Thinking of Woody and Buzz, lead me to one of the most important, memorable songs (and themes) of the movie, "You've Got a Friend in me" by Randy Newman. On a deeper level, and without giving away too many spoilers, even those we once thought to be our gravest enemies, have the capability to be some of our strongest friends if we just give it a go (as Buzz and Woody find out). In life today, that seems like one of the most powerful, impactful messages. Done in Photoshop, with many layers.
